How to film with drone
Basic principles for shot composition by Andrew Efimov
1. As wide as possible, as close as possible
One of the most important and simple rules that you need to keep in mind all the time. As large as possible to see all the details (this is always interesting to the viewer) and as wide as possible to give a complete picture of the city.

The significant difference between close-up and super-wide shots is very important. The more the difference, the more spectacular the final video will be. Even when it seems that the shot is close enough, it is advisable to try and shoot even closer and the same with wide shots.

2. Straight camera angles. Symmetry
Symmetrical shots with direct compositions always look more expensive. You won't find them at every location.
But it's good to keep this rule in mind every time you take off.

3. The movement of the drone along
the lines in the frame
Where possible, look for any line in the landscape you can "track" and repeat its trajectory with the movement of the drone.

4. Drone height
If we shoot any dominant, it will look best when its height in the frame is slightly higher than the horizon.
This means that drone should be just below of the top of the object.

5. Top shot
It is not always clear what the landscape looks like with the camera pointing straight downwards. Don't forget to lower the camera and check the view at each location.

6. Curtain
It always looks very impressive and intriguing when an object is revealed from some foreground.

7. Entry in a narrow space
Shots taken when the drone is flying through the narrow spaces (between houses, through the arches and bridges) always look extremely impressive and improve any video, adding spectacularity and dynamic.

8. Versatility
Shots where two or more objects are arranged in different perspectives look especially spectacular.

9. Skyline roll
As a rule, it looks justified when the edges of objects go beyond the frame, obscuring the horizon and perspective. It shows a certain skeptical look at what is happening (or at landscape).

10. Conclusion
Generally, we need to strive to make each shot look individually as a complete independent photograph.
Which could be printed and hanged on the wall.
